Colonel B Santosh Babu, the Commanding Officer of the Army’s 16 Bihar unit who was killed during a fierce conflict among Indian and Chinese soldiers at Galwan Valley in Eastern Ladakh on Monday night, had assumed control over his regiment just in December last year.

In the wake of finishing his examinations in Suryapet, Colonel Babu went to the Sainik School in Korukonda and went to get a graduation degree from Pune prior to taking a crack at IMA-Dehradun. His first posting was in Jammu and Kashmir.
